Coach Bio: Lauren Rigney

Lauren Rigney, co-founder and coach at Pracademic Coaching

As the academic side of Pracademic Coaching, co-founder and coach Lauren Rigney brings an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Princeton University, plus master’s degrees in Exercise and Sport Studies and Professional Counseling to the coaching practice. She is a board certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and Massachusetts. Her education and professional background in both the mind and the body give her a unique and effective approach to coaching.

Prior to becoming a counselor and coach, Lauren was a Division 1 college basketball player; a high school, Division 3, and Division 1 assistant coach; and personal trainer for over a decade. She graduated from a Level V United States Center for Coaching Excellence accredited graduate program. She has been an adjunct professor at NYU in the Graduate Program in Applied Psychology and at NYIT in the Undergraduate Program in Interdisciplinary Studies.

In collaboration with co-founder and coach Kristen Connor, Lauren formed Pracademic Coaching’s unique approach to coaching peak performance: We enlist the power of thinking ahead to enable our clients to act with conviction now. 

Combining our backgrounds in psychology and practical management, we guide our clients to envision the desired future state. This vision is powerful, motivational, and actionable. Knowing where you’re headed enables charting a path to get there, while unlocking the ability to anticipate and overcome challenges along the way.
